Shopping for a luxury SUV, but don’t want something big and bulky?  Your search may have lead you to the 2016 Lexus NX and the 2016 Acura RDX.  Both vehicles have a lot to offer, but you can probably only pick one.  Let’s dive in to the features of each.

Interior & Design

Lexus SUVs are known for their high-end interior materials, and the 2016 NX is no different.  Luxury and style collide with comfort and functionality with the NX.  While the 2016 RDX also offers a comfortable ride, it lacks the premium materials found in the Lexus NX.  When it comes to room, the NX and RDX are comparable, with the NX having a little extra room for people, and the RDX having a little extra room for cargo.  The exterior design of the two vehicles is quite the contrast, as the Lexus NX offers sharp lines, unique taillights and a bold front fascia.  The RDX is quite a bit more subdued.

Technology & Safety

Both vehicles have a host of technology features you would expect to find in a luxury SUV in 2016.  The NX features a 7-inch display screen with a Remote Touch Controller for easy navigation of your apps.  The RDX features dual dashboard screens that can get confusing at times, although many like the array of buttons.  Both the 2016 NX and 2016 RDX offer common safety features like rearview camera, a full suite of airbags and anti-lock brakes.  Where the NX comes out ahead is collision prevention technology such as its frontal collision system, rear cross-traffic alert and lane-departure warning.

Lexus gave the NX its name because it’s a “nimble crossover” with responsive steering and agility.  The RDX has also been acclaimed for its composed handling, although it may not drive as sporty as the NX. The NX comes standard with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine that critics find more than adequately powerful, while the RDX comes with a V6 standard that is noted for its quick acceleration.  Both vehicles get similar gas mileage.
